The
bold
brand

Brand strategy + design for women led businesses who've outgrown their brand — or never had one that fit in the first place.

What is
The Bold Brand?

The Bold Brand is for founders and experts who’ve grown...  but whose brands haven’t.

You’ve built something real. You’ve learned, evolved, refined your instincts. But what you have in place is still speaking in a voice that no longer fits — one shaped by shoulds, playing it safe, or an earlier chapter of your work.

This work is about alignment. Revealing what’s already there and giving it structure, language, and form. Making sense of the patterns you’ve been living inside, and shaping a brand that reflects the depth you’ve earned.

When a brand is built around who you are and how you work, it doesn’t need constant reinvention.

It keeps making sense.

get on the books

brand clarity

A strategic foundation that makes everything else easier.

This work starts beneath the visuals.

Before we design anything, we get clear on what makes your business yours — not in theory, but in practice. How you work. How you think. What you refuse to compromise on. And why the right people are already drawn to you (even if you haven’t been able to name it yet).

Together, we shape a clear, grounded foundation that helps you:

  • understand what actually sets you apart
  • talk about your work without second-guessing yourself
  • make decisions without constantly asking “does this fit?”

We're not rewriting your story or burning everything down to start over. Instead, we're putting language and structure around what’s already there — so your brand finally feels steady, intentional, and aligned.

visual identity

A visual identity that reflects your depth (not just your industry).

Once the strategy is clear, we translate it into a visual system that supports how you want to be seen — and how you want to grow.

You’ll receive a cohesive brand look that:

  • feels like an authentic extension of you
  • works across your website, social media, and marketing materials
  • doesn’t fall apart when your business evolves

This includes your logo, colors, fonts, and supporting visuals — all chosen for meaning, longevity, and usability. Not trends. Not decoration. And nothing you have to fight to use in real life.

Your brand will finally feel aligned with the business you've worked your ass off to build.

brand guidance

Clear guidance, not a pretty file you never open again.

You won’t be handed a folder of files and left to figure it out.

You’ll receive a clear, easy-to-use brand playbook that explains:

  • how to use your brand in everyday situations
  • which pieces to use where (and why)
  • how to keep things consistent as you grow or hand things off

So whether you’re DIY-ing, hiring support, or collaborating with other creatives, your brand stays cohesive.

guided SUPPORT

Support while you settle in.

After delivery, you’ll have space to ask questions as you start using your brand in the real world.

Things like:

  • Which logo should I use here?
  • Does this application make sense?
  • How do I upload or share these files?

You’re not expected to know this stuff already — that’s part of what you’re investing in.

How we work matters as much as what we build

client experience

You can see where you are, what's coming next, and what's needed from you at any point.

No digging through emails or folders trying to find what you need. No wondering "what am I supposed to do now?" You get a clear, organized system that keeps the project moving without the chaos.

From day one, you'll have access to a custom Trello portal where everything for your project lives in one organized system:

  • timelines
  • phase breakdowns
  • task instructions with reminders
  • approvals
  • deliverables
  • communication

Kind Words

The process was organized, thoughtful, and easy to follow, which made a big difference when making decisions about something as big as a brand identity.

I especially appreciated how much intention went into the details—from the color palette to the patterns and illustrations— while still making sure my photography remains the star of the show.

Kayla - Sunny Story Studio
Bold Brand Client

This is for you if:

  • Your story is no where to be found in your brand identity
  • You want strategy behind the design, not just something that looks polished
  • You want a brand that reflects the depth you bring to your work
  • You're done second-guessing every post, every pitch, every client interaction
  • You're willing to invest in work that lasts

This is not for you if:

  • You're still figuring out what you offer or who you serve
  • You want a quick turnaround without a strategic process
  • You're looking for visual updates only, without the strategy behind them
  • You want to hand off a brief and stay uninvolved in the process
  • You're not quite ready to dig into the deeper story behind your brand
i want A bold brand

timeline

The Bold Brand process is approximately 10 weeks from start to final delivery, assuming timely feedback and approvals. It's designed to be collaborative without being chaotic.

Each phase includes structured touchpoints — strategy review calls, creative direction feedback, design presentations — so your voice shapes the work while the process keeps moving forward.

You'll have clear milestones, space to provide thoughtful input, and enough structure to keep things on track without constant back-and-forth.

This timeline allows space for each phase to build on the last. Nothing is rushed or stacked on top of itself. We do the work thoughtfully, so it holds up long after the project ends.

investment

$4,500 USD

The Bold Brand is for women who are done negotiating with their own visibility.

This work brings together strategy and design to create a brand that reflects how you actually think, work, and lead — and gives you the confidence to show up consistently without second-guessing or chasing what’s trending.

You're investing in a foundation built to last. One that supports your business as it evolves, not just gets you through the next rebrand cycle.

How do I know if I need The Bold Brand or Brighten Brand Refresh? +

If you have existing brand elements you want to clean up and strengthen, the Refresh is the right starting point. If your brand no longer reflects who you are or what you do — or if you've never had a strategic brand built around your story — The Bold Brand is the better fit. Not sure? Book a call and we'll figure it out together.

Do I have to do Brighten Brand Refresh before The Bold Brand? +

It's an option, not a requirement. The Bold Brand is my most comprehensive service — it doesn't build on work done in the Brighten Brand Refresh.

How long does The Bold Brand take? +

10 weeks from your official start date, plus a one-week support period after delivery. The timeline includes built-in client review windows and a collaborative call mid-project.

How do you communicate during a project? +

Everything runs through your client portal (Trello). You'll have a clear view of where we are, what's due, and what's coming next at all times. I also send emails at key milestones so nothing gets lost in a notification.

How involved will I need to be? +

Your main input comes through the strategy questionnaire, feedback rounds, and a Brand Collab Call mid-project where we walk through early concepts together. I'll guide you through what's needed at each phase so you're never guessing what comes next.

How many rounds of revisions are included?+

One round per phase. If you need additional revisions beyond that, we can discuss expanding scope — I'll always outline any extra cost before moving forward.

What are the payment options? +

The Bold Brand can be paid in full or split into installments. Most clients choose a 50/50 plan, though three- and four-month options are available. Installment plans include a processing fee.

What if I need to pause or delay my project? +

You can adjust your start date with 7 days' notice based on my availability. If you need to pause once we've begun, notify me as early as possible. Any rescheduling includes a minimum $250 fee and will shift to my next available opening. Full details are in your service agreement.

Will I own everything when we're done?+

Yes. You receive full rights to your approved deliverables once the final payment clears. Any fonts, stock images, or other licensed materials will be noted so you can purchase or retain them as needed.

What's included in post-project support? +

After your project wraps, you'll have a one-week window for quick clarifications and a 30-minute wrap-up call within the first month to make sure everything is running smoothly.

time to take up space

Big Mood Studio

Shae was an elementary school teacher who quit the script, spent six months in Mexico, and built a brand and web design studio from scratch in small-town Arkansas. Her old brand didn't reflect any of that.

Now her brand reflects all of it. Her warm & adventurous spirt, a commitment to making business feel fun, and the same instinct that made her a great teacher: seeing who someone is and building around it— exactly what her dream clients are already looking for.

Kayla outgrew her brand when she moved from Japan to Northern Virginia. What I saw was a scientist-turned-photographer with print-first values and a quirky-aunt energy families trust instantly. Now her brand reflects all of it.

Hot Gossip

Hot Gossip is a small-batch chilli oil and chilli crisp brand built on borrowed recipes and zero apologies.

Founder Joon grew up in her Korean grandmother's kitchen, where there were always too many people, too many opinions, and always something red bubbling on the stove. She stopped shrinking to fit and started jarring the chaos instead. Loud by design, deeply seasoned by default, and guaranteed to be the most interesting thing in your fridge.

Sunny Story Studio

Kayla is a scientist-turned-photographer who moved from small-town Japan to Northern Virginia... and her old brand couldn't make the trip with her.

What I saw: an eye for detail, a print-first philosophy, and a quirky-aunt energy that makes families trust her before the session even starts.

Now her brand reflects all of it. Warm, trusted, print-forward - and exactly what her ideal clients are already looking for.

Merry and Bright

Merry & Bright Baking Co. is a seasonal pop-up bakery that only exists November 15-December 24.

The founder’s Gran used to bake dozens of cookies every Christmas in a hand-embroidered apron that said “Merry & Bright.” She was a 1950s gal with killer vintage style who’d sip dirty martinis and sing into her favorite wooden mixing spoon while the oven timer went off. Cozy, stylish, nostalgic, but always a little fun.

Never let the bastards get you down! You’d think there’d be more of a market for oversized paintings of other people’s families.

Vargas Law

Diane spent eighteen years building cases for a firm that wasn't hers.

When she finally put her name on the door, she wanted something that reflected how how she wanted her clients to feel working with her: warm, empowered, seen. No gavels. No Latin. No navy and gold. Just a brand system that feels exactly like walking into a room where someone finally has your back — because the women walking through her door deserve nothing less.

I would be pleased to RSVP as pending. You might want to rethink the nightgown first. There’s a whole Ebenezer Scrooge thing happening. My best to Bob Cratchet. Allow me to offer you some advice.
